Question no. 1155 suggested that the camera was capable of live shooting. What do I need to do to make that happen? Are there camera settings that need changing or switches thrown? The manual is not clear.

Question #1155 referred to the GY-HD250 which has an HD-SDI output.  Since the GY-HD110 does not have this output, live signals can only be provided via the IEEE-1394 (Firewire) connector (compressed video) or through the component analog connectors  (Y,Pb,Pr).  The "1394" selector switch determines whether the format of the Firewire output is HDV or DV.  The live output is continuously provided when the camera is not playing back a tape.
