Should I use a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) with my DLA-RS1? Why or why not?

Power conditions vary greatly community by community in the U.S. The idea to use a UPS for your DLA-RS1 is very good but not mandatory. The internal power supply of the projector is designed to provide clean power to the electronics but it will not keep the fans running should the power suddenly drop out while you have the projector operating. The typical conditions of your area may be a deciding factor. If you experience frequent power outages or even brownouts then I would suggest that you put one in your system. Please be sure the UPS is designed to handle the load of the projector. Other than the cost of the UPS I do not see any reason not to use one. You will get the advantage of the protection, additional power stabilization and power conditioning. If by chance the power does take a hit while the projector is on, then you can shut the projector down in the normal manner and it will go through the proper cool down cycle.
