We are about to go through our first winter with our new HM700s. Winter of course is a time of static electricity. Do you have a specific set of recommendations for using the HM700 and its recording media in winter weather?

Today's flash media products, including the SDHC memory cards used by the GY-HM700 have been designed to resist high levels of electro-static discharge (ESD.) That said, extreme ESD can damage the card or cause data loss in some cases. It is always prudent to avoid touching the gold contacts on the memory card especially if it is likely that you have built up a static charge. Please follow all of the recommendations of the card manufacturer with respect to handling and storage of the cards.
