What Chroma subsampling does the GY-HM700 use (4:1:1, 4:2:0, 4:2:2)? Thanks, Pat
The GY-HM700 processes the signal internally at 4:2:2 and provides a live output via the HD-SDI connector with 4:2:2 sampling. For recording, the signals are subsampled to 4:2:0, and compressed with MPEG2 at 35 mbps. Utilizing 4:2:0 subsampling with MPEG2 reduces the data footprint, and perfectly matches the standard used in the United States for digital broadcasting.
